Be Still: A Note From Pastor Leah

Be still.

This is something that the Lord has directed me to do on more times that I can count. Through phases of my life, as worry starts to well up within me, the Lord prompts me to be still. Lately, life has been chaotic, but in a good way. Due to the way the calendar fell this year, TCNaz Kidz has Easter Eggstravaganza, Baby Day, and VBS all within 6 weeks. Whenever I am planning a large event, my mind is constantly racing. I am currently in the middle of that six week time period and though the Lord has reminded me to be still, He has also laid it on my heart to teach stillness.

As adults, busy is our normal, but we often miss the busyness that childhood can hold as well. A lot of the kids in our church have homework, studying, sports practices, and family commitments. It is just so easy to forget to be still at any age.

The dictionary defines the word “still” as “deep silence and calm.” Starting this past Sunday, TCNaz Kidz are taking “46:10 Moments.” The name reminds us of Psalm 46:10 “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’” Every Sunday, during our 46:10 Moments, we will take time to be silent and listen. My prayer is that it will become a spiritual discipline that we will carry throughout life. I invite you to join us in making stillness a priority.
