Shechem Children’s Home

This last week we have over 60 kids at VBS each night. Pastor Karen and her team felt a strong pull to raise funds for the Shechem Children’s Home in the Philippines. There children find hope in the midst of trauma inflicted through sexual exploitation. This home offers a place for 12 children at a time to receive the help and services they need to find healing and care. The Shechem Children’s Home provides the following—and more—for children:

• Therapists, house parents, staff from the Church of the Nazarene, and both in-home and community social workers trained in trauma care
• A safe, secure, and loving living environment for up to 12 children
• Assistance with determining permanent placement for children
• Medical, educational, and spiritual care
• A loving environment based in the love and compassion of Christ

This week our children raised $770 to go towards this cause. There was a donor who heard about our project and offered to match whatever the children raised! Praise God for the f$1540 we are able to send and praise God for called his followers to participate in the Kingdom work of healing the broken and loving the hurting. Thanks be to God.
