The Salvation Army Service Unit for Southern Miami County has been a part of the ministry of The Tipp City Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years. We host the largest service unit in the tri-state area. The funds that we distribute are based on the amount of money raised during the Christmas kettle drive each year. Those funds are sent to the Cincinnati regional office and are then allocated back to use on a monthly basis. We then redistribute those funds to those in need in our local community.
We provide financial assistance for rent, utilities, prescription medications and other needs. All funding is done through a voucher system. We do not distribute cash funds to individuals.
In 2015 we also became the home for the Troy Salvation Army Branch.
If you or your organization would like to serve this Holiday Season by ringing the bell, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We begin on Black Friday and ring thru Christmas Eve. We are seeking bell ringers at Tipp City Foodtown, Monday thru Friday from 4 – 9 PM and on Saturdays from 10 AM – 9 PM. We also ring at the Troy Krogers, Monday thru Saturday from 9 AM – 9 PM and Sunday from 1 – 6 PM.
If you are in need of funding or have additional questions, please contact us at 937.667.3449.
We are open on Tuesdays from 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Funding from our Unit is for people residing in the Miami County (excluding those living in Piqua zip codes)
